Remembering a Leader

by Jess Lee

Today I want to share something personal. It’s about Peter Hsing, who is an investor in Bitesize and who suddenly passed away last week. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and venture partners. No words can express the sadness of his passing, but I want to share why Peter was and is such an important presence to me.

My team and I were fortunate to have a fun and lifting conversation with Peter late June, before we knew anything would happen. Peter was excited about the consumer version of the Bitesize app and how it could change the way people communicate with their friends, family, and acquaintances. He lifted my spirits in big ways with his idea.

It was the same when we met up in Palo Alto near Il Fornaio last year and walked to his office together. We talked about work, how to manage stress, and he always brought a fresh breath of air to our conversation.

Peter was an incredible supporter of Asian entrepreneurs and female founders like me. He invested early in my company and believed fully in the idea of Bitesize.

He was a bright star in my constellation and still remains so. I remain connected to his spirit and will continue his legacy through my work on Bitesize.
